We cut these wide-leg sweatpants from a midweight knit with plenty of give. The legs drop straight from a gathered waist, staying loose right through the ankles. Deep patch pockets sit flat on the hips, stitched down with exposed topseams that run the length of the leg.

Waistband and rise. An elastic channel anchors the waist without pinching, threaded with a self-fabric drawstring for adjustment. The rise sits easy, giving the hips room while the gathers distribute the fabric evenly.
Wide leg cut. The legs fall wide and straight down to full length. We kept the hem generous so the fleece has enough weight to drop cleanly instead of bunching around shoes.
Patch pocket build. Oversized patch pockets sit right on the front panels. They are set flat with exposed outer seams, deep enough to hold a phone without tugging the front waistband downward.
Washing and care. Machine wash in cold water or hand wash to keep the fleece surface soft. Skip the bleach and hang the pair to air dry, preserving the rich coffee brown tone.
