We cut these wide-leg lounge pants from a soft knit with plenty of give. The high rise sits flat across the middle with shirred side gathers, or you can roll the band down to drop the waist. Heather coffee gives the fluid drape a quiet, warm depth.

• Wide shirred waistband. The broad elastic waistband features side shirring that holds without binding. You can wear it pulled high over the hips or fold the top down to adjust the rise and the total length.
• Roomy palazzo leg. We let the leg fall straight and wide from the hip down to the floor. The open cut leaves space through the thigh, creating an easy drape that swings freely as you move.
• Deep side pockets. Two inset pockets sit along the side seams. We anchored them flat against the hip so they carry daily items without pulling the knit out of shape or adding bulk.
• Knit care and wash. Machine wash cold with like colours to keep the heathered yarn soft and clear. Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry to preserve the stretch in the waistband.
