We cut these palazzo pants from ribbed corduroy in a deep jujube red that holds warmth in cooler weather. The high rise sits on a broad smocked band that pulls on and stays put. Down through the thigh, the fabric widens into a full, easy hem.

• Smocked high waistband. A wide band of smocked elastic gathers the high rise close without hardware. It stretches over the hips to pull on quickly and rests flat against your waist throughout the day.
• Palazzo leg shape. The cut drops straight and wide from the hip down to the hem. That extra volume lets the ridged fabric hang freely and gives your legs plenty of space to move.
