A high rise anchors the shape so the legs can hang wide and loose from the hip down. We chose a washed linen blend in lake blue that stays cool when the heat climbs. The front carries a row of decorative buttons, and the elastic waistband adjusts with a self-fabric drawstring.

• Waistband and rise. We set the elastic band high on the waist and ran a drawstring through the channel so you can knot it where you like. A short row of decorative buttons sits flat along the front rise.
• Wide leg cut. The volume starts at the top of the thigh and drops straight down to a wide, ungathered hem. That extra room lets the linen move with your stride and keeps the fabric from catching at the knee.
• Deep side pockets. We inset deep pockets into both side seams, placed low enough so they lie flat against the hip when empty. They give you a place for your hands without pulling the waistband down.
• Linen blend care. Wash cold or lukewarm on a gentle cycle, or rinse by hand. Shake out the legs and hang them on a line to dry naturally. A quick pass with a steam iron smooths the larger wash creases.
