We cut these loose trousers with a wide straight leg that falls cleanly from the hip. The high rise uses a crossed crossover waistband that sits flat without a drawstring. At the bottom of each outer seam, a curved split breaks the hem so the knit moves freely when you walk.

• Cross front waist. The high-rise waistband crosses over in front rather than running straight across. It lies smooth against the waist with an elastic band inside that holds without digging or bunching.
• Split curved hem. We opened the lower outside seams with a curved split. This lets the wide hem flare slightly over shoes and keeps the knit from catching around the ankle as you move.
• Heather navy knit. The fabric is a lightweight jersey knit with stretch and good recovery. It has a soft, heathered navy yarn that gives depth to the dark blue tone without sheer spots.
• Deep side pockets. Two open pockets sit flat along the side seams. We cut them deep enough to carry a phone and keys without pulling the waist down or altering the line of the hip.
