We cut these trousers wide and straight from the hip down to let the corduroy drop without catching. The dark gray rib catches the light softly and holds warmth as the weather cools. An elastic waistband with an adjustable cord settles high on the waist.

• High drawstring waistband. We set a wide elastic band high on the waist and ran a matching cord through the middle. You cinch it to your own preference. It stays put when you sit without digging into your sides.
• Wide straight leg. The cut stays roomy from the thigh down through the hem. The fabric falls in a clean, vertical line that leaves plenty of room around the knees and calves for easy movement.
• Dark gray corduroy. The fine rib adds texture and body, giving the trousers enough weight to drape rather than cling. Dark gray is dyed through the ribs, softening slightly after the first wash while keeping its depth.
• Care and wash. Wash cold inside out to protect the raised ridges of the corduroy pile. Tumble dry on low or hang them straight so the wide hems pull the length flat.
