We cut these loose casual sweatpants with an open leg that falls straight from the hip. The front waistband dips into a cross shape, so it sits flat without gripping too hard. Light khaki jersey brings a soft stretch that stays comfortable all day.

• Crossover elastic waist. The front waistband overlaps in a low cross rather than wrapping straight across. It gives with movement and stays flat against the skin without digging in.
• Wide straight leg. We gave the legs full width through the thigh down to the open hem. The fabric drops cleanly without bunching at the knee or catching on sneakers.
