We cut these palazzo pants loose through the thigh and calf for plenty of room. The coffee and white plaid sits on a light linen blend with subtle side ruffle detailing along the outer leg. A gathered smocked waist handles the fit up top without digging in.

• Smocked waist and cord. The waistband combines elastic smocking with a self fabric drawstring. It sits flat, gathers evenly around the waist, and adjusts with a quick knot.
• Palazzo leg and ruffles. We cut the leg wide from the hip down to a full hem. A small ruffle detail runs down the outer seam to break up the lines of the plaid.
