We cut these trousers with generous room through the thigh before tapering down to a plaid-faced hem. Front pleats give the waist ease while the soft ribbed corduroy holds warmth through cool weather. The elastic waistband pulls on without binding, and the gray blue shade pairs easily with heavy knitwear.

• Tapered harem leg. A loose cut through the seat and thighs narrows toward the lower leg. Front pleats direct the volume down the front, giving you room to move without excess fabric dragging at your ankles.
• Plaid turned cuffs. We lined the cuffs with a contrasting plaid fabric. You can roll the bottom hem once or twice to show the check pattern, adjusting the break over boots, sneakers, or flats.
• Soft corduroy cloth. The gray blue corduroy has a fine ribbed pile that feels soft immediately and traps warmth. It holds its tailored shape while sitting loose across the hips.
