We cut these cropped pants with plenty of room through the leg, ending in an inset lace band at the hem. The dark coffee linen blend has enough body to hold the barrel curve without feeling stiff. An elastic band with a drawstring keeps the rise steady.

Lace hem band. The lower leg ends in a band of open lace set above the bottom edge. It gives weight to the hem so the cropped cut hangs straight rather than collapsing inward.
Linen and rayon blend. We weave linen with rayon for a lighter hand that breaks in quickly. The cloth vents warm air readily, softens after a single rinse, and carries a natural crinkle.
