We cut these shorts for hot afternoons when long trousers feel like too much cloth. The waist sits high with an elastic band and a flat tie cord so nothing binds when you sit down. Linen keeps the cut light, with room through the thighs and deep pockets set into the side seams.

• Elastic waist and tie. We build the waistband with a broad inner elastic and a workable drawstring. It rests flat against the hips, stays put while you move, and lets you adjust the tension without bunching up thick layers of fabric.
• Wide leg cut. The legs run wide from the hip down to the hem. That extra width lets air move through the garment on humid days, and the linen holds a clean straight shape rather than clinging to the thigh.
• Light bean paste shade. This colourway is a muted, earthy rose with a grey undertone that we wash into the linen before cutting. The yarn takes the dye softly, showing the slight natural slubs and texture across the weave.
• Washing and linen care. Wash by hand or on a gentle machine cycle with cool water. Hang them on a line to dry naturally to preserve the weave. If you want a smooth finish, use a warm steam iron while the cloth is damp.
