We cut these trousers from ribbed corduroy that holds warmth and falls with a steady, structured drape. The waistband sits high with an elastic panel across the back, while the front remains flat. Straight front seams guide the fabric down into a wide palazzo hem.

• Ribbed corduroy cloth. The fabric has soft parallel ribs that give the trousers body without adding heavy bulk. It catches the light across the brown ridges and drops straight from the hip instead of clinging.
• High elastic waistband. We set a clean, flat band across the front waist and gathered the back on elastic. The waistband stays put when you sit, bend, or tuck in a thick knit top.
