We cut these wide trousers from medium-weight corduroy that holds heat as the weather cools. The beige cloth carries neat black polka dots across the full length. An elastic waistband with an adjustable cord keeps the top relaxed, while the legs drop loose and straight to the hem.

• Elastic cord waistband. We set a wide elastic channel at the high waist and ran a drawstring through it. You pull it to set your own tension without any pinching along the hip.
• Wide barrel cut. The leg cut is roomy from the thigh down, giving the corduroy space to drop straight without catching. The wider hem balances the full volume along the lower leg.
• Deep side pockets. Two inset pockets sit along the side seams. We stitched them deep enough to hold a phone securely without changing how the front panels hang.
• Corduroy wash care. Wash these trousers cold on a gentle machine cycle or by hand to protect the soft pile. Lay them flat in the shade to dry, and keep them away from bleach.
