We cut these trousers with a bowed barrel leg and reinforced knee patches in army green corduroy. The ribbed wales hold warmth for cold weather, while the loose cut leaves plenty of room through the thigh and calf. An elastic waistband with an adjustable drawstring sits high on the waist.

• Barrel leg cut. The leg bows out wide through the thigh and tapers back toward the ankle. This curved shape gives the heavy corduroy room to hang without dragging on the ground.
• Ribbed corduroy fabric. We use a soft, textured corduroy with clear vertical wales that trap warmth during fall and winter. The cloth has enough weight to keep its horseshoe structure intact throughout the day.
• Patchwork knee panels. Horizontal seams across the knees anchor inset patch panels on each leg. They add weight to the front of the trouser and nod to classic utility workwear.
• Waistband and pockets. An elastic casing gathers the high rise, secured with a flat matching drawstring. Deep inset pockets sit along the side seams to hold small items without pulling on the waistband.
