We cut this pair with a curved barrel leg that bows out at the calf and tapers gently at the hem. The knit is a midweight cotton-poly blend with enough body to hold the rounded shape without feeling stiff. A smocked elastic waist stays flat and sits high.

• Barrel leg shape. The outer seam curves outward through the mid-leg before drawing in toward the ankle. This gives the pants room through the thigh and knee while keeping the hem clear of shoes.
• Smocked drawstring waist. A wide band of gathered elastic sits securely at the natural waist. We threaded an adjustable flat cord through the casing so you can set the tension without any pinching.
• Front patch pockets. Two deep square pockets are topstitched flat across the front hips. They sit clear of the waistline gathers so the fabric lies smooth when the pockets carry small everyday items.
• Cold wash care. Machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, or wash by hand. Hang them up to dry so the knit keeps its soft texture and the waistband retains its shape.
