We cut these loose trousers from a soft ribbed corduroy printed with a muted green floral pattern. The volume bows out through the thigh and draws back in at the hem. An elastic waistband with a button closure keeps the top flat and easy.

• Curved barrel leg. The leg bows out wide through the hip and knee before tapering slightly toward the ankle. This shape keeps the hem off the ground while letting the heavier ribbed cloth hang away from the leg.
• Soft ribbed corduroy. We chose a medium-weight corduroy with fine vertical ribs and a brushed face that holds warmth in cooler weather. The green floral print is set directly into the pile so it softens with regular wear.
• Elastic waist construction. An elastic band runs through the back of the waist for stretch, paired with a button front that sits flat across the middle. It pulls on easily without pinching or binding when you sit.
• Deep side pockets. Two open slash pockets are stitched directly into the side seams. They sit deep enough to carry a phone or keys without pulling the waist down or distorting the outer curve of the hip.
