A five piece linen capsule that actually mixes

The math of a capsule is simple: five pieces that all tolerate each other give you more real outfits than fifteen that do not. Linen makes the game easier because the fabric itself is the common thread, and the TARSE palette leans on colors that were chosen to sit next to each other.

The five slots

One wide linen pant in a dark neutral, one in a light one. A henley or button-down in white or cream. A boxy tee in a color you actually like wearing near your face. And one swing dress that works alone, with the tee layered over it, or open as a duster. That is the whole list.

Why the pants carry it

A dark wide leg reads polished with the button-down tucked in, and weekend-easy with the tee half-tucked. The light pair does the same jobs in reverse. Because both waists are elastic, the pants forgive whatever the week does to you, which is more than most capsule advice accounts for.

The swap rule

When you add a sixth piece later, retire the one it replaces from the rotation. A capsule stays useful exactly as long as everything still mixes; the day you own three tops that only work with one pant, you are back to owning a pile.

Color, in one line

Two neutrals and one accent is enough. The range keeps most cuts in sand, black, olive and rust, and any three of those four coexist without effort.
