We cut these cropped lounge pants with generous width through the thigh and calf so fabric stays off the skin. The high elastic waistband sits flat without a drawstring to tie. It is a light, stretchy knit in dark gray that recovers its shape after sitting.

• High elastic band. The waistband sits high on the waist with enclosed elastic that lies flat. We left off drawstrings and metal grommets so the front remains smooth under untucked tops.
• Cropped wide leg. The leg drops straight from the hip into an open cropped hem. Air moves through the wide opening below the knee while the fabric maintains a clean, straight drape.
• Deep side pockets. Two inset side pockets are anchored into the hip seams. They are cut deep enough to hold a phone flat against the side without dragging the waistband down.
