We cut these capri pants wide through the calf and finish the crop with a tier of gathered ruffle. An open crochet insertion sits right above the bottom ruffle band to break up the hem weight. The heather light khaki yarn keeps the surface textured, while an elastic waist with an adjustable cord settles the rise where you want it.

• Ruffle and crochet hem. A band of crochet insertion runs across the lower calf, followed by a gathered ruffle edge. That extra fullness at the hem gives the cropped leg a clean swing when you walk without pulling on the knee.
