We cut these cropped pants with a wide leg that ends in a ruffle hem, set off by a crochet trim band just above the lower flare. The high waist adjusts with a self drawstring, and deep pockets sit clean along the side seams. The black linen blend hangs loosely and softens through regular washings.

• Crochet and ruffle hem. The lower leg finishes with an open crochet inset above a soft ruffle hem. That extra flare gives the cropped cut movement without pulling at the calves.
