We cut these culottes wide enough to hang like a divided skirt in the heat. The lightweight linen blend stays loose around the calf, while an elastic waistband with a matching drawstring keeps the rise settled. Contrast lace borders each hem to weight the opening.

• Lace hem border. We finish each wide leg opening with a contrast lace trim. The lace gives a clean line to the cropped cut and adds enough edge weight to keep the linen falling straight when you walk.
• Drawstring waistband. An elastic casing wraps the high waist and adjusts with a self-fabric drawstring. It gives room through the middle without bunching up under light cotton tops or tanks.
• Linen blend drape. We use a lightweight linen blend with an open weave that lets heat out. The heather light khaki yarns show slight natural slubbing and soften noticeably after the first cold wash.
