A wide leg cut short enough to clear the ankle. We built these palazzo capris with a high elastic rise, deep side pockets, and an open hem trimmed in contrast lace. The black linen blend hangs loose like a skirt but walks like a trouser.

• Wide culotte leg. The volume starts at the hip and stays wide straight through the calf. This loose barrel profile lets air move around the legs on hot afternoons. It moves easily without pulling.
• High drawcord waist. An elastic waistband sits high and stays anchored with a matching fabric drawstring. You pull it tight or leave it relaxed depending on how high you want the rise to rest.
• Contrast lace hem. We finished each leg opening with a band of pale contrast lace sewn flat along the lower edge. It weights the wide hem slightly so the cropped leg hangs open instead of bunching.
• Linen blend care. Wash cold on a gentle cycle or by hand to keep the lace flat. Hang them on a line to dry. Steam iron if you want the crisp weave back, or wear them crumpled straight off the rack.
