We cut these shorts loose through the thigh so warm air can move freely. The high rise anchors on an elastic band with a flat drawstring, paired with contrast stitching against deep indigo fabric. They hang straight, soften with every wash, and pack down small for travel.

• Elastic drawstring waistband. The wide waistband stretches over the hips without hardware and pulls snug with a self-fabric cord. It sits flat across the front and holds its position when you walk.
