We cut these summer shorts with a wide leg opening and front pleats to keep the linen away from the skin. The high elastic waistband pulls on and secures with a self-fabric drawstring. Light contrast thread outlines the pockets and hem, while the white weave stays open and light in warm sun.

Wide pleated leg. The mid-thigh leg is cut wide and loose with front pleats that build extra volume around the hip. The opening stays open to vent air, giving the shorts a clean drape without binding as you walk.
Elastic drawstring waistband. We set a wide elastic band high on the waist and ran a drawstring through the center. It pulls on easily, holds where you place it, and stays flat under untucked linen shirts without pinching.
Oversized patch pockets. Large patch pockets sit flat on the front hips, deep enough for a phone and keys. We edged them with contrasting thread so the seams hold strong and show clear stitch lines against the white fabric.
Light linen care. The white linen-blend weave is lightweight and airy, showing slight natural translucency in bright direct sun. Hand wash or run a gentle cold cycle, then hang the pair on a line to air dry.
