We cut these Bermuda shorts long enough to hit right around the knee, leaving plenty of room through the thigh. The knit fabric has give without clinging. An elastic waist holds them up, and the flat drawstring lets you adjust the tension yourself.

• Waistband and cord. The waistband uses a wide elastic band that sits flat against the waist. We ran a drawstring through the casing so you can tie it tight for a walk or leave it looser around the house.
• Knee length cut. The leg drops straight down to the knee. It gives full coverage through deep bends and stretches, with wide openings that do not bind across the lower thigh.
• Deep pocket setup. We stitched deep patch pockets into the sides and added a pocket at the back. The side bags sit flat along the hip and hold a phone without pulling the waistband down.
